How expensive is it to repair a fireplace damper?

Our fireplace damper is broken and will not close. Is this typically an expensive repair? We do use the fireplace frequently in the winter but it is now very drafty even with glass doors closed.

How do you install a lock top fireplace damper?

We recently bought a home and it had a stove in the fireplace. We didn’t want the stove so we removed it. The problem is that it doesn’t look like there is a damper in the fireplace. I heard the cheapest way to install a new one is to use a lock top damper. Any thoughts? Also, need to get rid of the stove. It’s in decent shape. Any thoughts on how to get rid of it?- it’s extremely heavy. Thanks!
