AV questioned:
My bathroom is small and no space is available to borrow from anywhere else. I want to remodel the bathroom where the bathtub (not sunken) is next to the wall that divides the bathroom and master bedroom. That dividing wall is where I want to place the fireplace. Is that possible? Since the tub is high, the fireplace will be at a high level on the bath side. But how does one raise the firebox level on the bedroom side?

I’ve seen “see through” fireplaces next to a bathtub, where the other side is the master bedroom. It’s a pretty cool effect, although the fireplaces themselves are very expensive. One thing to consider, though, is that the fireplace itself is going to be about 2 feet deep. So, you can’t just mount it in a standard wall between two rooms. You have to build a soffit that will enclose the fireplace, which is basically going to waste that space (if you’re hurting for space, this may not be practical).
Regarding the firebox on the bedroom side, it’s fine having it a couple feet off the ground. You can then build a hearth that’s about 18 inches high, a foot deep, and the length of the fireplace. You can then tile it or use decorative stone on the top of the hearth.
if you have a very large bedroom you can do this, if not don’t you will chop the rooms up and it will not look right , a few years ago I was in a house that had this fireplace it was an open concept with a lot of space for the thick wall for the double face fire place, then I went into a smaller home same thought but it didn’t look excellent at all , this is my opinion of coarse
to raise the fireplace you need to built a wall strong enough to hold the weight and the size of the unit .
I can’t answer your question, but that is such a cool thought!
I’ve really seen it before. and it looks really nice. There are some per-cautions your have to take. IDK what though. My friend said she had to research fire safety and stuff
you can but you may have to have some plumbing went there are fire place options now and they can be placed just about anywhere but remember the wall will have the be quite deep to accommodate the venting. it sounds nice to place it there sounds as if it will also be at a nice height when your in bed too for space sake you may want to consider an electric fire box with a blower to give off warmth and ambiance without all the hassle and expense
well… i suggest you to go on? coz here is too much excellent thoughts for the purpose of house decoration and type of your question.
