LOL, I learned how to do it from my chimney sweep because I couldn&#039;t get the doors to unlatch.  On mine, open one side all of the way.  Open the other side so that it is partially open, push down from the top and there is a little nub that rides along a track that will release below the track.  Then the door swings out at the side of the firebox and the inside can be cleaned.  Both sides work the same way.</description>

Both sides work &#116;&#104;&#101; same way.</p>

Here&#039;s a link that should tell you what you wish to know about cleaning the glass doors on your fireplace. I would think though, that these glass doors should be able to moved away from the fireplace for easier cleaning. Usually the doors that prevent sparks from getting into a room just sit in front of the hearth. If your doors are different and are difficult to clean, this is likely why they are in the condition you found them.
