Can I light a gas fireplace without electricity?

Marathonbob questioned:


The pilot light in my gas fireplace is turned on, but since I rewired the electricity to my plasma tv above my fireplace the fireplace doesn’t turn on. Is there a manual way to light the fireplace?

   A match is fine just get it close to the pilot.

   Your gas fireplace is low voltage so it can be used in a power outage. the fan wont work but the gas will still flow. Open the grill and turn the Dial to on
