How do I light the fireplace in my apartment?

I have a gas fireplace in my apartment and I’m terrified of blowing myself up! What’s the safest way to re-light the pilot? There are no instructions anywhere but there is an off/on button and some scary looking knobs at the bottom.

I need to remove the marble on a fireplace face?

I am going to replace a prefab fireplace box. I need to remove the marble that surrounds the existing one. I was plotting on using
piano wire to cut the adhesive holding the marble to the fireplace box.
Is there a better way?
I stuck my pocket knife behind the marble into the adhesive. It felt
like it was still pliable. It appears
that whoever installed it used the
least amount of adhesive they could.
