How can i seal my fireplace so cold air will not get in?

I just bought a house a few months ago and it has a rock fireplace. But sence the weather has been getting more cold the cold air from outside has been coming through the fireplace making my living room very cold. I dont want to use the fireplace unless necessary i just want to seal it so my living room isnt so cold. please help!
